In July 2010 teachers from Heronsbridge school in Wales visited schools in Mochudi Botswana. They attended the Special Olympics Regional Heats for Athletics and Football. Back at Kgafela school football coaching sessions were held for Kgafela, Lady Mitichson and Isang schools as well as local youth teams.
Discussions and staff training took place within the Kgafela Special Needs classes, looking at access to the curriculum for children with disabilities, low tech communication aids and resources for Speech and Language therapy.
